Describe a special day that you went out but didn’t spend much money
You should say:
What day it was
Where you went
What you did
Who you were with
Sample answer:
Well, the special day I am going to share with you is my first anniversary with my ex-girlfriend, when I was in the final year of my senior high school. Wow, now as I think about it, it was eight years ago. Time really does fly, doesn’t it? Anyway, we were living in the boarding school and everybody else was working their neck off, you know, to prepare for the college-entrance examination. The school teachers were worse than cops, keeping an eye on every student and literally banging on our heads the moment we slacked a bit. So my girlfriend and I didn’t really have chance to spend time together as a couple. But I was well aware of what would be waiting for me if I failed to celebrate the anniversary with her. So, on that very morning, we got up really early and snuck out of campus when the guards at the gate were changing duty. Yup, it’s precisely like what you see in movies, only better. Then, I took her to a large expanse of grassland, about twenty minutes’ walk from the campus. The place was ghostly quiet, one could hardly spot anyone else within a 2-mile radius. But that makes it a perfect place for couples on a date. As a student, because of the tight budget, I couldn’t take her to a fancy restaurant or Disneyland, where she always fancied. So to make it up to her, I decided to make this most memorable birthday for her by being the most romantic guy in the world. I took out all the love letters I previously wrote to her but kept neatly in an envelope and read it out loud to her in a way that sounded like a romantic poet.
Well, that lasted for a couple of hours, coz honestly, there is a whole pile of letters and she listened intently and never tried to interrupt me.
As night descended, we laid down on the grassland, cuddling her in my arms, staring at the starry night, talking a lot about our future together.
If you are wondering how we managed to sneak back to campus without being noticed, well, we didn’t. Of course the teachers found out and I was almost killed by my head teacher. But to be honest, at that moment, I felt it’s all worth it.
Don’t ask me why we broke up, let’s just say our destinies are not bound together. We will just leave it at that, shall we?

1. Well, the special day I am going to share with you is my first anniversary with my ex-girlfriend, when I was in the final year of my senior high school.
2. Wow, now as I think about it, it was eight years ago. Time really does fly, doesn’t it?
4. But I was well aware of what would be waiting for me if I failed to celebrate the birthday with her.
5. So, on that very morning, we got up really early and snuck out of campus when the guards at the gate were changing duty. Yup, it’s precisely like what you see in movies, only better. Then, I took her to a large expanse of grassland, about twenty minutes’ walk from the campus. The place was ghostly quiet; one could hardly spot anyone else within a 2-mile radius. But that makes it a perfect place for couples on a date.
Yup, it’s precisely like what you see in movies, only better.
Well, that lasted for a couple of hours, coz honestly, there is a whole pile of letters
7. If you are wondering how we managed to sneak back to campus without being noticed, well, we didn’t. Of course the teachers found out and I was almost killed by my head teacher. But to be honest, at that moment, I felt it’s all worth it.
8. Don’t ask me why we broke up, let’s just say our destinies are not bound together. We will just leave it at that, shall we?

雅思口语范文赏析:a quiz TV show

Describe a quiz TV showWell, it seems that many TV channels like to present some quiz shows to the public, such as “the lucky 52” in CCTV2, “happy dictionary” in CCTV 3, and “great competition of intelligence” in CCTV 1. But here, I’d like to talk about a quiz show from Shenzhen TV channel, which is named as “who is cleverer”.

This quiz show brings the *s back to the primary school class, helps them recall those happy memories in the childhood, recollects those forgotten knowledge. It aims to attract audience of primary school students, as well as *s.

In this quiz show, a group of primary school students and a team of *s are competing on the same stage, for those seemingly familiar and seemingly simple questions from primary school subjects. It is fun to see the embarras*ent of those * compe*s unable to answer those easy questions, and it is also fun to see those primary students showing off their knowledge in front of their * compe*s. Altogether, there are 10 questions for each compe*, and those *s who can answer right all the 10 questions may have a chance to get the prize: 50 thousand YMB , but if he fail, he has to say to the audience, “wow, I am not so clever as a primary school student” and then he is replaced by another *s.

Wow, it’s so funny that after so many years education, almost no *s could win the game and get the prize. And it’s so interesting that this quiz show can bring so many parents and children in front of their TV sets to enjoy their get-together. I like the feeling of watching this kind of TV programs.

A Show or a Performance

Describe a show or performance

You should say:

what kind of performance it was

when and where you saw it

how it was performed

and explain how you felt about this performance.

My friends and I visited Laoshe Teahouse in Beijing last summer. It was our first time to visit such a famous place. We not only had nice tea but also enjoyed Chinese traditional art performances. It has been quite an impressive experience to me, and to my friends, too.

The teahouse is to the southwest of Tian’an Men Square. Its amazing Beijing style has attracted hundreds of visitors from home and abroad every day.

Before we decided to go, we had heard a lot about that place and we got very excited. We got even more excited when the performance was about to begin-audience from different parts of the world made the atmosphere hot. The performance began with a thrilling starting music. It was folk music played with Chinese traditional instruments. by Teahouse Music Band. The drum beats immediately dragged people’s attention. After starting music was Peking Opera Highlights with the name Presents from Magu. I didn’t quite follow its plot because I didn’t understand their singing. However, I like the music and the way it was presented. The most unforgettable show came when an artist from Sichuan started performing Face-Changing of Sichuan Opera. It was just like magic. He changed his face so quickly that no one could tell how he could manage that. This show gained much applause from the audience.

I am glad that I took my friends from the US to the Laoshe Teahouse that evening. We had wonderful time there. I like this kind of performance. It has become a special showcase of the essence of Chinese national culture, and a bridge connecting China with the rest of the world.

Part 3

Artistic Performances

1. Are traditional art forms performed very much in China?

In some *all cities and towns, where popular modern art is less introduced into, traditional art forms are still playing an important role in entertaining local people. In big cities, like Beijing and Shanghai, traditional art forms are kept well and performed a lot in big and *all theatres. I think people are getting more aware of protecting our own traditions, including traditional art performances. And this is why it’s now a fashion to go and watch a really good Beijing Opera show at a not so low price.

2. How does TV program help to spread traditional culture?

TV program helps greatly to spread traditional culture, definitely. For an obvious reason, people have easier access to a TV program than to a live show. Every one can afford it. So, with the help of TV show, more people would have the chance to be exposed to traditional culture.

3. What benefits do you think people derive from watching performances or visiting art exhibitions?

In my opinion, art is not a necessity in our life, like food and drink. But life cannot be without art. Sounds contradictory? Well, I mean, what people derive from watching performances or visiting art exhibitions is mental pleasure and satisfaction. People say art is the reflection of life. I agree. Suppose after a day of hard work, what will a piece of beautiful music bring to us? Comfort, relief, refreshment, and so many other mental enjoyment. Life is hard, but thanks to art, we become less depressed.

4. Do you think people generally prefer to go to a concert or to listen to recordings of music?

Generally, the majority would prefer to listen to recordings of music. It’s much easy to get and every one could afford the money and time. Besides, concert is concert. It’s live, and it’s one-time. You get there, you listen to it, and it’s over. Recordings can be listened to for many times. People choose to listen to their favorite recordings at any time, any place they like to.

The Performing Arts and Children

1. What is the value of watching artistic performance (or experiencing artistic activities) in relation to children's development?

Beauty education is important in children’s development. Watching artistic performance or experiencing artistic activities is a good way to have such an education. It helps children to build up their understanding of this world. They get to know what is beautiful and what is ugly, which is good for their growing-up. But there is one thing we have to be careful about. That is to choose the proper performance and activities, improper ones could only lead to a bad education.

2. What is the value of children learning to perform, such as learning to sing or dance in front of an audience?

It depends on if the child him/herself likes to do it or not. If it’s his/her own willingness to learn, it’s a hobby. Learning to perform will be a pleasant experience. Knowing how to perform could be a treasure for the child’s future development. Performing could be a well-paid occupation. However, if it’s not the child’s own wish to learn, it could be torture and I don’t think the child could get anything positive from the learning.

3. Do you think the performing arts should be included in school curriculums? (Why?/ Why not?)

Performing arts should be included in school curriculums as an optional course, but not a compulsive one. If it’s optional, students with interest can choose to attend the course and develop their performing talent. For students who are not that involved in performing, they can have enough freedom not to choose to attend the course. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time for those who don’t like performing.

4. Do boys and girls have the same feelings/attitudes about performing (or watching) an artistic performance?

For me, it’s a little blind to give a yes-or-no answer to this question. Well, if there is difference, I see it as the difference between individuals, but not between boys and girls. But…well, yes, I guess it’s easier for girls to get involved and become part of the story. I remember when I watched the play Cinderella many years ago, I cried when Cinderella was being tortured, but the boy sitting next to me didn’t.

5. Who do you think is more suited to learning how to dance - boys or girls?

It’s hard to say. We have female dancers as well as many successful male ones dancing on the world stage. I mean male dancers can achieve as high as females dancers do. However it is a fact that more girls are learning how to dance at an early age than boys. The Chinese thinking is like this. Girls have to be pretty, and dancing girls are just fancy. But for boys people hold different expectations. Boys are expected to be playful and tough. It is not seen as a right thing for boys to learn how to dance.

Are you working orstudying-

I am working now. How do you spend your weekends- I spend my weekendsreading and watching TV. Do you read a lot in your spare time- Yes, I read a lotin mysparetime.

What movies will become classics in 50 Years?

The Bottom Line Which movies of the 90s will film students be talking about in 2050? This list consists of my choices of movies that should become classics in the future.

The problem with the 1990s is that those years are still fresh in our memory and times haven't changed that much. The 00s of today are almost interchangeable with the last decade. It is still too early to tell what movies will become classics and what movies will become dated. Most of the big stars of the 90s arrived through *aller movies of the 1980s. The biggest stars of the next decade probably started in the 90s and their initial movies, now overlooked, may become future classics.

All of the movies on my list are included because I enjoyed the direction, acting, writing or cinematography more than other movies released during the period. This list will likely change over time far more than my top ten movies of other decades. For instance, "Casablanca" has been a favorite of mine for over 30 years. It has aged well and will continue to age well. Humphrey Bogart and Ingred Bergman went on to make more great movies which only made "Casablanca" more endearing. Other attempts at the same genre have not tarnished the merits of the 50+ year old movie. The movies that I have seen since have not displaced it as my favorite whereas, I may feel different about any of these movies two years from now. It takes time for a movie to be earn the label "timeless."

These movies may be timeless but we will have to wait for another couple of decades for a proper evaluation.

10. Dances With Wolves (1990)

There are very few good civil war films and the beginning for "Dances With Wolves" is stunning as it is set during a wonderfully filmed battle. There were also very few good westerns made during the previous two decades, but this film was able to break the trend and deliver a compelling historical drama about life with the Sioux Indians. the buffalo hunt is spectacular and demonstrates the vastness and beauty of the country.

9. Three Colors Blue, White, Red (1994)

The three colors of the French flag are made into three different movies. Other than a short one minute period, the films do not interrelate other than each uses an assigned color throughout the film. The "Blue" movie is heavy, the "White" movie colorless and the "Red" movie alive. Other movies have used color for effectiveness, but a movie titled with a color has to pass more scrutiny. The artistic quality in all three films made the viewing an enjoyable experience.

8. Home Alone (1990)

This movie would get my vote for the best dialogue of the decade. It may have been the best dialogue since "All about Eve." A film about the greatest playwright in history would receive some brilliance just from the subject matter. But brilliance also shines through with screenwriting, set design, costumes and direction. Although homage is paid to the Bard in style and content, I actually liked the movie more than most of his plays.

6. Braveheart (1995)

"Dances with Wolves" was an epic western that worked for actor turned director Kevin Costner. In similar ways, "Braveheart" works the same for Mel Gibson. In both cases, the leading actor, although powerfully played, is secondary to the cinematography, the historical crisis and the compelling story. Some movies are meant for the big screen because of their immenseness and grandeur. "Braveheart" fills up the theater.

5. Toy Story (1995)

Disney began making quality family shows again in the 1980s. A quality family show is one where the parents can enjoy it as much as the kids. "Toy Story" took it one step further and added state of the art technology to provide a wonderful Disney story. We all have wondered if our toys came alive, but we never knew that there would be so much team work.

4. Hoop Dreams (1994)

Every basketball star had a childhood that is in the background somewhere. "Hoop Dreams" looks at the story another way by focusing on the child and their development into a star. The movie was 4 1/2 years in the making and chronicles in real life, the rising athletes. It is fascinating to watch the players grow up and work through family and school challenges. Supposedly 250 hours of film was shot and edited to 3 hours where the viewer becomes a neighbor, clas*ate and spectator through the movie.

3. Saving Private Ryan (1998)

The battle scenes are vivid and extraordinary but the most riveting part of the movie is the story behind the mission to save Ryan. Tom Hanks plays the leader of a group of soldiers, all of whom were peaceful private citizens before the war. Duty and honor are emphasized as the soldiers perform their warrior responsibilities as trained. The humanity of the individual being is illuminated against the inhumanity of war.

2. Forrest Gump (1994)

I may be biased regarding this film because I grew up in a *all town during about the same time period. This is a modern day fairy tale demonstrating that love, dignity and perseverance conquer all. "Forrest Gump' runs the viewer through the entire spectrum of emotions as it tells the story of a slow thinking innocent kid traversing through five decades of life.

1. Schindler's List (1993)

How to Communicate With Your Cat
Scientists have discovered that cats have developed an elaborate communication system with hundreds of vocalizations to tell humans what they want.[1] They know that we are in charge, so it makes sense for the cat to learn to communicate vocally, and to make sure that we understand what they are saying. Cats can also learn to understand what we want them to do by our repetition of words or actions in a consistent manner.[2] In this way, we are able to communicate with cats in a dialogue that takes time and effort to develop but is very rewarding for both.
[edit] StepsRemember that vocalizing is generally not your cat's preferred mode of communication. A cat's "first language" consists of a complex system of scent, facial expression, complex body language, and touch whereas we humans communicate primarily through sound. Cats soon realize that we don't understand the non-verbal signals they send to each other, so they vocalize in an attempt to communicate in our language. By observing which sounds elicit which actions from us, a cat is always learning how to make requests (or demands).[3]
Listen to your cat. If you watch what your cat is doing when it meows, you may learn to distinguish which meows are associated with which requests (or protests) and eventually know the difference between a "let me out" demand and a "give me food" demand by sound alone.[4] Each cat is different and may have its own variations, but some common meows can include:

Short meow - standard greeting.
Multiple meows - excited greeting.
Mid-pitch meow - plea for something.
Drawn-out mrrroooow - a demand for something.
Low pitch MRRRooooowww - a complaint
High-pitch RRRROWW! - anger or pain.
Chatter (rapid teeth-chattering jaw movements) - excitement, frustration (e.g. when prey is out of reach or escapes)
Chirrup (Also called "chirring", a cross between a meow and a purr with rising inflection) - friendly greeting sound, often used by a mother cat to call to her kittens.
Purr - invites close contact or attention
Watch your cat. Since cats are more "fluent" in body language, certain gestures will accompany vocalizations to reinforce their message.

tail straight up - happy
tail twitching - excited or anxious
slowly blinking eyes - affection, equivalent of "blowing a kiss"

sustained eye contact is interpreted as being assertive or even aggressive and makes cats uncomfortable; slow blinking communicates trust[5]
wet nose "kiss" - an affectionate gesture when the cat taps its wet nose to you
ears back - alarmed or in a very playful mood, also used when sniffing something they want to know more about
rubbing head, flank and tail against a person or animal - greeting ritual
head-butting - friendliness, affection
face sniffing - confirming identity
ears back and flattened - fearful, anxious or VERY playful (be careful here)
licks you - this could be the ULTIMATE sign of affection. If your cat licks you, your cat may consider you to be a part of his/her family, like a mother cleaning her kittens. If you push your cat away when he/she licks you, they may feel hurt and confused. Your kitty loves you! Or this could mean you have something tasty on your hand!
Talk back. As mentioned earlier, cats are always learning how to communicate with us; the more we communicate with them, the faster they'll learn.[6]

Use a slightly raised tone of voice to indicate friendliness and a lowered tone of voice to indicate displeasure or aggression.[7]
Repeat the same word, sleep or bed, each time you go to bed, and eventually your cat will begin to associate the repetitive word sound with your actions, and may even get to the bedroom before you.
Use the word shower consistently each time you are ready to take one, and eventually your cat may beat you to the bathroom and might even curl up in the sink to wait for you (See picture at right).
If you blink slowly when making eye contact with your cat, they will usually respond by coming over to be petted, as it is a very non-threatening gesture.
Be consistent. For example, a cat often "asks" before invading another's space and a common blunder many pet owners make is to say "no" but pet the cat at the same time. This is very confusing to the cat. Instead, a very quick "no" combined with gently but firmly pushing the cat away from you, without showing affection, will let the cat know that their presence is not desired at this time. Most cats will try 2-3 times to invade a person's space, often from different directions. Be patient when saying "no" to them.

You can also develop a "command tone" to use with your cat when they are doing something seriously wrong. Use a voice that comes naturally to you, that you can replicate easily, but that is also distinct from your everyday talking voice. If you use this voice sparingly, but seriously, then your cat will learn to associate the voice with the idea that they are being naughty.
Another easy "no" command that cats all understand is a quick, sharp, hiss or "spit" sound as is made by their own kind when they themselves say "no".

[edit] TipsTreat your cat with love and respect and they will become a very happy and loving companion and friend. Talk to them softly and watch how they listen. They might respond with a meow or other sound.
With patience cats can be trained to respond to commands, much the same as dogs. You can even teach your cat to shake your hand.
Siamese & Maine Coon cats have been observed to be especially "talkative", while long-haired cats tend to be on the quieter side.[8] But of course, there are always exceptions!

[edit] WarningsThis is not, by any means, a complete list of cat gestures and vocalizations. The feline communication system is surprisingly complex and extends beyond the scope of this article. Consult the sources below for more details, and always pay attention to your cat - every one is different.
Urinating, spraying and maddening (depositing feces in a prominent spot) are often a cat's attempt to mark territory that it feels is being threatened.[9] It may also be an indication of urinary tract or bladder infection, or other serious health issue. If this is a problem, the cat may need to be treated, neutered or spayed, or separated from other cats. Consult your vet.
Urinating or defecating outside or near the litter box usually means the litter box needs cleaning. Clean the litter box on a regular basis.
Never yell at or physically discipline a cat. This only frightens and angers them, and is counterproductive.

Describe an interesting song you like.

You should say:

What it is

Which country the song comes from

What story the song tells

And explain why you think it is interesting.

I would like to describe a song called "Hey Jude", which was firstly sung by the English rock band the Beatles. Actually it's a song McCartney wrote to cheer up a 5-year old boy Julian, during his parents' divorce. The song was first released in August 1968 as the first single from one of the Beatles' records. The song reached the top of both British and American charts. Then, it became an uplifting ballad that's inspired the masses for decades.

I was also touched by the song the first time I heard it in my high school. I especially like the lyrics, which carry an encouraging message, like when he sings "make a sad song and make it better". It taught us to be positive and optimistic when things aren't going well. The lyrics and the tune always spark a bit of romance in my heart. I tended to listen to this song when I came across all kinds of frustration and failures in my life. It's really a wake-up call for me and could drag me out of tough situations. Nowadays, I can't help singing along with the song once it plays. It also had been covered by a series of singers worldwide. Interestingly, it was sung by 80,000 people in the stadium during the opening ceremony of the 2021 London Olympic Games. The scene was spectacular, hard to describe in words!

You should say:

What it is

Which country the song comes from

What story the song tells

And explain why you think it is interesting.

雅思口语Part 2 范文 :Both Of Us

主题:Both Of Us by BOB and Taylor Swift

I really love music and over the years there are lot many songs that have come up to inspire me and help me to get out of the rut that I am living in. But, the one song that I really fell in love and have enjoyed over the years is, “Both Of Us by BOB and Taylor Swift”.

The song is about the people who are trying to fulfill their dreams. It talks off their struggle, their emotions and how they feel when the world rejects them. The singer says that he is there for all of the people who are trying to fulfill their dreams. It is about how it is not about just lifting yourself from rut but also the people near you.

I love this song because in some ways it helps me to stay focused and move on towards my dreams. It is very motivating and the background music is amazing. I remember hearing this song on a loop when the days are tough and I am not able to do anything. Because it is on these days that I can fully relate with this song.

Most of the people hear to it, most probably the ones who are bothered about something or are trying hard to achieve something in their lives. It is that powerful, that strong, that you can actually feel powered hearing it.

同学们牢记好三句话:thanks very much for your time ,and I enjoy taking with you . Have a good day ,__(加上考官的名字,并且握手)。 T:Come in please.(在门口叫你) S:thank you 后,轻声关门,马上走到考官前说:my name is _ x.(一定要说中文名,不能说英文名),然后马上请问对方的名字:how do you like me to address you ,sir?(这句话是外交级的语言,对方肯定会告诉你名字),假设考官说的是Ken, 你马上微笑的回答:Oh, Ken, (惊讶的表情),nice name, glad to meet you.(伸出手,要有力) 。

It has white body and black eyes或者It's cute之外,几乎没有区别于其他同学的内容。

首先要学会做有心人,平时和同学、朋友聊天,要多注意收集他人的人生经历。比如一个同学绘声绘色地描述了他去云南游玩的经历,即便你本人没有去过云南,也可以把这一段话改编成一段出色的雅思口语trip题答案;

There's a zoo indside of it, and there're different kinds of animal in it, such as…

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (opened February 8, 2001) : A play area for kids, featuring a Mount Shasta wilderness-like setting and suspension and wire bridges. It also features rock climbing and a Brother Bear scene cave. It is also designed for adventurous *s.

Well, I don't have a certain favorite attraction in particular, but if I have to say, I'd probably say it is Redwood Creek Challenge Trail. Actually, it's a play area for kids but it also attracts a young * like me for its design. It is a mount shape background with a exciting suspension and wire bridge, and also a cute brother bear cave which even fascinates a lot of *s.
